I love the sea and I love a forest. Newborough Beach is just a unique combination of the two. Through the forest you drive or walk to this gorgeous beach with a lighthouse at one end, and a huge expanse of a low lying mountain range all the way to the other end of the seascape. I go here often. I have done a few versions of it and more to come.Paul Cizane was fascinated by mountains. I grew up in a village with my window having a view of the Himalayan foothills - maybe that is the fascination with painting these hills/mountains.
