Bulls have always been known as the sign of strength, vitality and vigour. I grew up on a farm with a guard bull. We even had a name for it: Zumma. I have scary and fun memories of playing hide and seek with the gentle giant across an orchard on a hill. Sometimes, the things that you are scared of are also the things you are attracted to- the morbid curiosity. That is the story with the bull drawings. I identify with the bull for its energy and the rawness. Charcoal is the perfect medium for bull drawings. The strokes are rough and full of energy, similar to the bulls nature. I aim to make a life sized bull drawing in charcoal.
