This is a series on bulls and bison drawings, mainly done with charcoal on paper. 

I enjoyed doing this series as it involved intense bursts of energy and just one stick of charcoal.

Bulls have always been known as the sign of strength, vitality and vigour. I grew up on a farm with a guard bull. I have scary and fun memories of hide and seek. Sometimes, the things that you are scared of are also the things you are attracted to- the morbid attraction. That is the story with the Bull drawings. 

I identify with the bull for its testosterone fuelled energy and the rawness. Charcoal is the perfect medium for bull drawings.

The strokes are rough and full of energy, similar to the bulls nature. I aim to make a life sized bull drawing in charcoal.
