The colours of blossoms in spring make me want to go to Japan. There is nothing like this event in all seasons. This painting was inspired by walks in Bowdon, Cheshire, England in late spring. I have done a few of on this subject - Four to be precise. I don't generally do small canvases. This painting is on a canvas board. It was the different shades of pink and red flowers that I wanted to capture. It looks like I will have to do a bigger piece to be able to explore the detail of the light on flowers and the leaves flooded with light
