    Time Lapse

    A multicoloured mixed media on canvas painting of the London skyline. This artwork is the 3rd in my series of skylines. I have also done Durham and Oxford. I don't generally paint architectural pieces, but these have turned out so well. I started the series as a commission.

    Ravens are intelligent and mysterious. I often see them perched in a tree, casually observing the world around them. You would think that their monotone feathers and plumage would make them easy to draw, but to capture their true likeness you need to use different shades of black. I used to follow a cartoonist who was obsessed with drawing ravens, and I always appreciated his work. I was in the mood to try my hand at some more ink drawings, and ravens are the perfect subject. I plan to draw 5-10 ravens for this series. This ink on paper drawing of two ravens is on A1 museum quality paper. It is also available as a limited edition print.

    This charcoal on paper drawing was designed and completed in LA. When I started this series the charcoal drawings were smaller, but recently i've been experimenting with a larger drawing space. This has given me the freedom to go into more detail with the subjects of the artwork, or the surrounding landscape.

    This drawing was designed overlooking Santa Monica. I focused mainly on bulls when I started the series, but I’ve been doing more and more bison drawings recently. The raw power and strength behind an adult bison is something I respect, and I love being able to capture it in my art. I’ve always had a positive response to the bulls and bison drawings. I feel that people, like me, appreciate the rawness of the drawing and how it complements the personality of the animal – Drawing with charcoal allows me to capture that wildness and ruggedness.

    I focused mainly on bulls when I started the series, but I’ve been doing more and more bison drawings recently. The raw power and strength behind an adult bison is something I respect, and I love being able to capture it in my art. The series was first exhibited in Chicago at The Other Art Fair, and shortly after they were exhibited again in Santa Monica (where I sold 3 to same collector). I’ve always had a positive response to the bulls and bison drawings.     Bulls have always been known as the sign of strength, vitality and vigour. I grew up on a farm with a guard bull. Scary and fun memories of hide and seek. Sometimes, the things that you are scared of, are also the things you are attracted to- the morbid attraction. That is the story with the bull drawings. I identify with the bull for its testosterone fuelled energy and the rawness. Charcoal is the perfect medium for bull drawings. The strokes are rough and full of energy, similar to the bulls nature. I aim to make a life sized bull drawing in charcoal. Ofcourse shipping it and framing it will be a logistical challenge.

  • Giraffe

    Timelapse Video

    I love animals and animals love me. That curious, happy look is what gets me; When you look a pet or an animal in the eye. My take on animal drawings and paintings  is infusing them with colour and giving them my personality, so to speak. A close friend once described me as colourful. If there was only one word to describe me, I'd be happy with that. Animals give you unconditional love. The more I get to realise what humans are capable of, the more I realise more love for animals. Emil Zola, a French writer once said: "Art is a corner of creation seen through a temperament." 

     

    This painting was commissioned by one of my collectors in Spain who owns 6/7 of my works.  It is available as a signed A1 or A2 limited edition print, with a certificate of authentication. Frame option is for a thin white aluminum frame.
